Best Caribbean Cruise Ports - Don't Miss These Beautiful Places

Cruising in the Caribbean is one my favorite vacations and in doing so I have visited most of the best Caribbean cruise ports. The water of the Caribbean is such a beautiful shade of turquoise blue. Cruising along the pristine waters has got to be one of the best vacations ever.

Cruising is an all in one vacation. It is a traveling hotel where you stop and see what the beautiful ports have to offer. A week long cruise will usually stop in 3 different ports. A nine day cruise stops in five ports. The other days you spend at sea enjoying the exotic atmosphere of a cruise ship sailing the blue waters of the Caribbean.

A cruise vacation includes your meals and entertainment. There are shows every night, the food is bountiful and the scenery outstanding. I would like to share what I consider to be the best Caribbean cruise ports.

St. Kitts is a tropical and exotically beautiful Carribbean cruise port. The blue sky, sparkling water and white sand are all part of the St. Kitts experience.

The snorkeling on the reefs was outstanding. The tropical fish were plentiful and it is so beautiful to be part of the underwater ocean experience especially at St. Kitts. The tour operators were very friendly and helpful while we were out on the snorkel boat.

Within walking distance of the port is an area of quaint little stores. Just walking amongst the colorful stores and taking in the atmosphere is fun. There were some locals that brought monkeys so we could take pictures.

There is so much duty free shopping available here. You can get great deals on cigarettes and alcohol. The prices were amazing compared to the United States prices on the same items.

One of the best cruise ports in the Caribbean is stopping at Tortola for the mere fact that you can access some beautiful spots in the British Virgin Islands.

When we docked in Tortola we took a ferry to the British Virgin Island of Virgin Gorda to visit a famous area known as the Baths. What an experience that was! Giant boulders are nestled all over the beach and there is a cave that you can explore. The walkway through the cave is quite a challenge with tight places and cave pools that make for an exciting trek. At the other end is another beautiful and quiet beach. The snorkeling in and around the huge boulders is fun but be careful of the wave action.

Another great place to visit when in Tortola is Cane Garden Bay which is rated one of the top ten beaches in the Caribbean. It is located on the north shore of Tortola and it is beautiful but because of its reputation most cruise days it is extremely crowded.

St. John's Island is a small island in the U.S. Virgin Islands Chain. Some ships can anchor off shore and ferry you into the island but you can also easily catch a ferry from St. Thomas which is a common port of call for cruise ships in the Caribbean.

St. John's Island is where one of my favorite all time beaches is located and that is Trunk Bay. I have visited there several time and the beauty of the area is outstanding. The ride into Trunk Bay is awesome. You are far above the beach and the views are so captivating.

The beach is white sand and the water is so clear. You can snorkel right of the beach at Trunk Bay. They rent snorkel equipment at the beach and you simply swim out to the trail. There are plenty of tropical fish to see and it really is a beautiful spot in the Caribbean. Don't miss it if you have the opportunity to visit Trunk Bay at St. John Island.

Ocho Rios is a beautiful stop in the paradise known as the Caribbean. Very tropical with lush greenery and colorful flowers, Ocho Rios is one of the gems of the Caribbean.

The port of Ocho Rios in Jamaica offers one of the best shore excursions in the Caribbean which is a trip to Dunn's River Falls. This outstanding one of a kind place offers a 1000 feet high waterfall which is terraced in steps that you can actually climb. You can climb solo or with a guide that often uses a human chain to make the climb up the falls. The Dunn's River Falls is set in the lush tropics and is perfect place to visit while cruising the Caribbean.

Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas is one of the most visited cruise ports in the world. There are a variety of things to do in St. Thomas. At any one time there can be six or seven cruise ships docked and the area can handle the influx of visitors.

The shopping on St. Thomas is easily accessible from the cruise dock. The duty free shopping is outstanding and you can get some really great deals.

Besides a ferry trip to St. John Island one of favorite stops was the St. Thomas skyride to Paradise Point. Its a great way to take in breathtaking views of the island and surrounding areas.

If you like beaches, Coki beach and Sapphire beach are great locations to visit. Sapphire Beach faces St. John and offers stunning views. Coki beach offers access to Coral World which is fantastic place to visit. It is a marine park with an underwater observatory of fish and other creatures of the sea.

The Caribbean cruise port of Antigua is known for its beaches. In fact it is said to have 365 beaches, one for every day of the year.

The beaches offer all kinds of water sports such as snorkeling, windsurfing and even horseback riding on the beach. My favorite beaches on Antigua are Dickenson Bay and Half Moon Beach. Spending the day on what of Antigua's beatiful beach is a great way to relax with a tropical drink and soak up the sun and the sights of the Caribbean.
